The Tall Rock (Pselos Vrachos)
Visitors of Edessa city should not miss the chance and visit the area of the “Tall Rock” that is located at the end of Varosi neighborhood. The view from this site is amazing as you can admire the countless valleys of Edessa and Pella, the ancient city and the Monastery of Agias Triadas!
Edessa’s Folklore Museum
In the neighborhood of Varosi is located the Folklore Museum of the city. The building itself is a donation of the Sivena family and build in 1932. Visitors of the Museum have the great opportunity to learn about the customs, the culture and the everyday life of the people of the city of Edessa and of course the extended area of the previous century.
Visitors can observe an exceptional collection of representative men and women traditional costumes from the 1880- 1920, from the city and the villages and also local Macedonian, Vlach and from Greek refuges from Minor Asia and Ponto.
Other important exhibits of the Museum are: the section with the children toys, tools of domestic use and also from tools from traditional Greek professions. Finally in the Museum there is a very important collection of rare ecclesiastic and educational books, with the oldest one to be a book of an Old Testament from 1753.
Waterfall Park of Edessa
The waterfalls of Edessa is a unique spectacle and visitors of the city should not miss the chance and walk along the Park and admire the big “Carano” Waterfalland with 70meter high, the double waterfall and of course the cave!
Water Museum in Edessa
A beautiful museum in Edessa is the Water Museum where travelers will have the chance to get o know the history of Edessa’s in water power and visit the sections with the plethora of watermills and their domestic and business use in the local economy.
